SUP Surf Etiquette
As the Stand Up Paddle surf community grows at a rapid pace in California, the United States and the World, the WPA asks all SUP surfers, especially new to the sport of surfing to be respectful of surfers in the water, surf locations and to practice good surf etiquette (please see rules of the wave).
Here are some good unwritten rules of the surf to follow if you are a SUP surfer:
Know your ability and the surf break you are going to surf. Beginning SUP surfers can be a bigger danger to those in the water and to yourself if you do not know the dynamics of a SUP board and the power of the wave.
